KATMANDU, Nepal -- Brooklyn College lifted the trophy of the 6th All Nepal Football Association Cup by beating China 2-0 in the final match Tuesday. Gregg Bergstorm scored both the winning goals.
Brooklyn College did not concede a single goal during the entire championship. Both goals Tuesday came during a 30-minute overtime following the goalless draw between Brooklyn and China during the stiuplated 90-minute game.
A crowd of about 20,000 people watched the New York team take the cup durhng its first Asian outing. Sunday, Brooklyn was leading Nepal 2-0 when police had to escort the New York team 10 minutes before the end of play because of fighting on the field and a hostile, rock-throwing arowd of about 15,000 fans. Officials awarded Brooklyn College victory in Sunday's game on Monday.
