WASHINGTON -- Augusto 'Gus' Paraiso, a suburban Washington realtor, has been elected president of the Touchdown Club of Washington, the club announced Thursday.
In addition, the Touchdown Club's first woman member, Lela Foreman, was elected vice president and will be eligible to run for president next year. She joined the organization in 1979.
Founded in 1935, the club originally was an all-male organization for football lettermen.
Paraiso, a native of the Philippines who is a vice president of the Carey Winston Real Estate Co. of Bethesda, Md., repaces James Gee, an executive of the Communications Workers of America.
