BURBANK, Calif. -- The first great-grandchild of late actor John Wayne was born Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, the family said.
Kathryn Josephine McFarlane greeted the world at 3:17 a.m. PST at 9 pounds, 9 ounces.
Her mother is Wayne's granddaughter, Alicia Maria McFarlane, 25. The father is insurance broker James G. McFarlane, 29. Both mother and daughter were reported in excellent condition.
Alicia is the daughter of Wayne's eldest son, Michael, who runs Batjak Productions, the movie company founded by his father. She is one of Wayne's 23 grandchildren.
Michael is the son John Wayne and his first wife, Josephine.
