The New Jersey Generals of the U.S. Football League...

NEW YORK -- The New Jersey Generals of the U.S. Football League have signed six players to contracts, including former New York Jets' linebacker Stan Blinka, it was announced Friday.

Nose tackle Charles Cook, a former Jet and New York Giant; offensive tackles Kenneth Jones, Mike Morini and Todd Hallstrom and nose tackle Emanuel Weaver also signed contracts with the Generals.

Blinka, drafted by the Jets in the fifth round out of Sam Houston State in 1979, spent five years with New York and started in all 56 games. He was named to the NFL All-Rookie team in 1979.

Blinka was traded to the Denver Broncos after the 1983 season but was released during training camp. Cook, from the University of Miami (Fla.), played in four games for the Giants in 1983.
