MONTREAL -- The National Hockey League and Molson Breweries announced Tuesday the signing of a long-term agreement involving broadcasting rights to the NHL playoffs and all games played in the United States.

The dual network agreement, which involves Molson, Carling O'Keefe, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the CTV Television Network, the French-language TVA and Radio Canada networks, calls for the two breweries to share Canadian broadcasting rights to the U.S. and playoff games.

Molson already holds broadcast rights to all Canadian NHL teams with the exception of the Quebec Nordiques, whose rights belong to Carling O'Keefe.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but NHL President John A. Ziegler said they were identical for both breweries.
