ACAPULCO, Mexico -- An American stuntman working on the set of Sylvester Stallone's latest movie slipped over the edge of a waterfall and was killed, city authorities said Thursday.
Clifford Weger, 34, in charge of special effects for Rambo II, was performing a stunt at the edge of the waterfall Tuesday when he slipped, Ruben Testa, spokesman for the district attorney's office told United Press International.
Weger's body was returned to Los Angeles for burial Wednesday, Testa said.
Stallone, who both directs and stars in the sequelto 'First Blood,' plays a Vietnam veteran named Johnny Rambo who is haunted by memories of torture from the Viet Cong.
The movie is being filmed in the Pacific Coast resort of Acapulco, some 180 miles south of Mexico City. Weger was killed in Valle del Rio, 21 miles northwest of the coastal city, Testa said.
