'After our separation, Julio, who is the woman who meant most to you?' Preysler asked.

'My daughter,' Iglesias replied, according to the interview.

Preysler, who also calls herself the Marquise of Grinon as a result of her subsequent remarriage, said she found Iglesias during the interview in Miami, 'enormously attractive, much more so than when he was younger.'

Long a superstar in the Hispanic world, and well known throughout Western Europe, he has only recently gained attention in the U.S.

According to Preysler, Iglesias said he had no intention of marrying again 'because I do not think the conditions are right to be married at this moment.' He said divorce was a 'practical' solution.

The interview ended with a flourish of mutual compliments. 'How do you find me now, Julio?' Preysler asked. 'Better,' was the reply. 'And how do you find me? Worse?'
