TOKYO -- The Baltimore Orioles, last year's World Series champions, will arrive in here Oct. 25 for a 15-game playing tour of Japan, sponsors announced Friday.

The Orioles will play five games against this year's Japanese champions in what the tour organizers called a 'real World Series' in Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka beginning Oct. 27.

Baltimore will also play 10 more games against the Yomiuri Giants, Japan's most popular team piloted by home-run king Sadaharu Oh, and other teams until Nov. 15.

The last game will be held in Kawasaki, Baltimore's sister city west of Tokyo.

It will be the Orioles' first Japan tour since they made a trip in 1972.
