SAN FRANCISCO -- Jesse Jackson drew one of his biggest cheers from Democratic convention delegates Tuesday night when he told them, 'I would rather have Roosevelt in a wheelchair than Reagan on a horse.'
The phrase, which he has used before in his campaign speeches, came as he enumerated the color's of his 'Rainbow Coaltion,' which he said includes 'chrome.' He pleaded that disabled Americans be judged by their contributions and their values and not by their handicaps.

The comparison was between President Franklin Roosevelt, who used a wheelchair because he was crippled by polio, and President Reagan, who rides horses for recreation.
