NBC graduated to first place in the prime time...

NEW YORK -- NBC graduated to first place in the prime time television ratings last week, taking six of the top 10 spots including No. 1 with a repeat of 'Rage of Angels, Part 2,' the steamy Jaclyn Smith two-parter that was tied for second place the previous week.

CBS placed second with four shows among the top 10, leaving ABC again in third place with no shows among the top 10, and only three in the top 20.

The A.C. Nielsen prime time ratings for the week ending July 1 gave NBC a 12.3 rating and a 24 percent share of the viewing audience. CBS was second with an 11.3 rating and a 22 share. ABC had a 10.7 rating and 21 share.

In the evening news category, 'CBS Evening News with Dan Rather' strengthened its lead with an 10.3 rating and a 23 share. The 'NBC Nightly News' was second with an 8.8 rating and a 20 share, and ABC's 'World News Tonight' had a 7.8 rating with an 18 share.
