GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- You can kid Kevin and Sue Wagner all you want, but you'll never get their goat. That's because their pet goat recently surprised them by coughing up a $2,000 diamond ring.
'We couldn't believe it,' Wagner said. 'We were just standing there and he sort of gave a short cough and out it came.'
That was about a month ago, Wagner said. He told skeptical friends and showed the ring to several jewelers, but no one would say what they thought the ring was worth.
But when the couple took the ring to Stanley Schmitz at Zales Jewelers this week, they found out the ring was worth $2,000.
'It just blew me away,' Schmitz said. 'It is a true story and the diamonds are absolutely beautiful. The ring is 14-carat gold with a full-cut 38-point center stone and it has six diamonds clustered around it.
Wagner said he and his wife bought the goat, which is named Charlie Brown, about two months ago for $15.
