NEW YORK -- The last two parts of NBC's minisequel 'V: The Final Battle' were the top two rated prime time TV shows last week, bumping the season climax of 'Dynasty' into third place, but ABC still finished in first place.
The A.C. Nielsen prime time ratings for the week ending May 13 gave ABC a 16.2 rating with a 27 percent share of the viewing audience, NBC a 15.3 rating with a 26 share and CBS placed third with a 14.0 rating and a 24 share.
It was ABC's fourth consecutive win.
Prime time soaps again were among the top-rated shows. ABC's 'Dynasty' finished its season last week and CBS's 'Dallas' and 'Falcon Crest' wrap up their seasons with the now tradtional cliffhangers this week.
Parts 2 and 3 of ABC's lavish miniseries 'The Last Days of Pompeii,' which competed head-on with NBC's 'V' sequel place 13th (Part 3) and 15th (Part 2).
But another special that ABC rolled out for the month of May -- one of four sweeps months in which ratings are used to adjust affiliate's ad rates -- Jane Fonda's 'Dollmaker,' was the No. 5 show.
In the past 33 weeks, CBS has won the prime time ratings 19 times, ABC 11, NBC 1 and there were two CBS-ABC ties.
'CBS Evening News with Dan Rather' won the evening news category with an 11.6 rating and a 24 share, 'NBC Nightly News' had a 9.5 rating with a 19 share and ABC's 'World News Tonight' had an 8.9 rating with an 18 share.
