TUCSON, Ariz. -- Second seeded Lucinda Gurney of Palos Verdes, Calif., defeated fourth seeded Tracy Ishii of Torrance, Calif., 6-4, 6-2, Sunday to win the girls 14s singles title at the Easter Bowl junior tennis tournament.

Gurney's 77 minute baseline triumph came a day after her older sister, 14-year-old Melissa, had captured the girls 18s championship and marked the first time in the 17 year history of the tournament that the same family had won two championships the same year.
