Utah's Bente Dahlum captured the women's slalom event Friday...

BARTLETT, N.H. -- Utah's Bente Dahlum captured the women's slalom event Friday to complete her double win in Alpine events at the NCAA Skiing Championships at Attitash Mountain.

The junior from Norway posted the two fastest slalom runs, earning a combined time of 1:31.99 to edge Julie Woodworth of Vermont by .67.

Dahlum won the giant slalom Wednesday.

In men's slalom action, James Marceau of Colorado overcame a fourth-place finish after the first run to win the slalom with a 1:27.35 combined time. The top four finishers were within .26 of each other. Utah took second and third, Knut Aronsen finishing the course .12 ahead of teammate Harald Gefle.

Utah won both the men's and women's slalom events as it extended its overall team lead to 565 points, 59 ahead of Vermont. New Mexico is third with 424.5, Colorado fourth with 423 and Dartmouth fifth at 395.5.

Utah won the women's slalom by having four skiers finish in the top 10, Andrea Trepp taking fourth, Jill Robins fifth and 1976 Olympic gold medalist Kathy Kreiner in 10th.

Utah, which won last year's first combined men's and women's competition, is now in position to capture its third NCAA championship in four years.

The four-day meet concludes Saturday with the women's 3 x 5 kilometer relay and the men's 3 x 10 kilometer relay at the Jackson ski area.
