ST. LOUIS -- Joe Mullen and Doug Gilmour each scored a goal and goaltender Mike Liut stopped 13 shots Saturday night to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Blues took a 1-0 lead at 6:45 of the first period when Mullen scored his 15th goal of the season.

Mullen corralled a loose puck from sprawled linemate Brian Sutter and slid it in the near side past Penguins goaltender Michel Dion's stick.

Dion was sensational throughout the game stopping 34 Blues' shots. Dion robbed several Blues in the second period, including Mullen in the first minute of play as he had Greg Fox draped over him. On the ensuing power-play, Dion came up big with several key saves, including a breakaway attempt by Bernie Federko.

Dion again was brilliant in the third period, making several outstanding saves, but Gilmour ended Pittsburgh's hopes with an empty net goal at 19:33.
