Tim Mazzetti, the New Orleans Breakers' top scorer this...

NEW ORLEANS -- Tim Mazzetti, the New Orleans Breakers' top scorer this year with 119 points, Monday signed a three-year contract with U.S. Football League team.

Mazzetti, the most consistent kicker in the USFL in 1983, finished this year 2 points behind the league leader, Philadelphia's David Trout.

Mazzetti joined the Breakers in 1983 after four years with the Atlanta Falcons. During the past season, he kicked 12 field goals in a row and a perfect 31 extra points.

'Signing this contract is very satisfying,' Mazzetti said. 'My only regret is that now, playing in the Superdome, I can't blame it on the wind should I miss.'
