ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills Wednesday signed safety Mike Kennedy, linebacker Mark Merrill and nose tackle Bill Acker to fill in for injured players on their roster.
Kennedy spent the entire preseason with Buffalo before being released when the team made its final cuts. Merrill, a five-year veteran, last played for the Green Bay Packers in 1982. Acker, a four-year veteran, played for Kansas City last season.
Kennedy will replace safety Len WYlterscheid, who has a fractured fibula. Merrill will replace linebacker Phil Villapiano, who has torn knee ligaments,and Acker will replace nose tackle Mark Roopenian, who has been bothered by a neck problem.
