Tahiti defeated Fiji 1-0 with a last-minute goal to take the gold medal. Officials said a fight then began and the injured referee had to be carried from the field.
The Fijian player was arrested for striking a police officer, officials said.
The two-week Games conclude Friday with a championship rugby match between Western Samoa and Fiji. A match featuring the two teams at the Fiji Triangle Tournament finals earlier this year was stopped at mid-game due to a riot.
