GREELEY, Colo. -- The Denver Broncos today announced the names of 10 players who were cut to reduce the team's roster to 70.

Head coach Dan Reeves Tuesday announced that linebacker Rich Lockman had been released and that linebacker Bill Leary, wide receiver Jeff Raikes and defensive lineman Bret Felknor were placed on injured reserve.

Reeves said the names of the 10 players cut were sent to NFL offices Tuesday afternoon, but were not made public until today because of the difficulty in arranging transportation for the ex-Broncos. He said the players practiced Tuesday and attended team meetings Tuesday night, but were released after breakfast today.

Players cut were defensive back Bruce Baldwin; guard Tracy Franz; defensive end Dan Gregus; wide receivers Henry Johnson, Bobby Lewis and Timmy White; running backs Robert Johnson and Kenny Simon; tight end George Thompson, and linebacker Vic Koenning.

The Broncos and other NFL teams had been prepared to cut to 60 Tuesday. But team owners meeting in St. Louis voted to increase the roster size from 45 to 49 and change Tuesday's cut requirement from 60 to 70.
