BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- The U.S. rock group Kiss Friday canceled a three-day concert tour of Argentina following warnings from terrorist groups who threatened to bomb the performances, their manager said.

C.K. Lendt, vice president of Glickman-Marks management corporation based in New York, sent telexes to Buenos Aires saying that 'due to technical and logistical problems' Kiss canceled the Aug. 19-21 concerts in the Boca Juniors stadium in Buenos Aires.

Last week, an unknown extremist group called the 'Free Fatherland Nationalist Commando' threatened to use 'all means at our disposal' to prevent the band from performing.

Calling Kiss 'a group of degenerate Anglo-Yankees,' the commando said it had a plan to block the performance, even if it 'goes so far as to cost the very lives of the members of that unfortunate band.'

Earlier, a group called the Captain Giacchino commando -- which was active during the Falklands war last year -- twice threatened to blow up the soccer stadium 'into a thousand pieces' if organizers went ahead with the concert.

A Falkland Islands war veterans group also asked the military government to refuse entrance visas to the musicians, saying their presence would destroy the values of Argentine youth.

Local producer Ruben Mollo, who organized the Argentine tour, said last week that 'these threats are not very serious,' and said 'no kinds of threats can keep Kiss from performing.'
