SEOUL, South Korea -- The U.S. Olympic team blanked Genoa, Italy's professional club, 3-0 Wednesday to give the Americans their first victory in the 13th President's Cup soccer tournament.

The Americans also have played to two ties in the 11-team, 10-nation tournament.

Amr Aly gave the United States a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute. Michael Fox followed in the 69th minute and David Lischner two minutes later.

For the Italians, one of the tournament favorites, it was their second setback against one victory.

In other games, Thailand beat Indonesia 3-0 behind three goals by Niwat Gaipet and South Korea's national amateur team downed Nigeria 1-0 to raise its record to 3-0.

Also participating in the tournament are the Netherlands' professional team P.S.V. Eindhoven team, South Korea's professional Yukong team and amateur teams from New Zealand, Sudan and Ghana.
