MALIBU, Calif. -- Five people died and four were injured early Saturday in a head-on collision on Pacific Coast Highway. One man was arrested for drunken driving and another was sought for leaving the scene.
Four of the victims died in the two-car crash.The fifth person died several hours later.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies said after the two cars collided, two other vehicles plowed into them. A driver of one of the cars that struck the crashed vehicles, Lori Peralta, 21, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.
The driver of the fourth vehicle was sought by police after fleeing the scene.
None of the victim was identified.
In nearby Inglewood, a seven-car pile-up late Friday injured 15 people. The accident occurred as vehicles poured from Hollywood Park Racetrack into heavy traffic, officers said.
