HANOVER, N.H. -- Tim Cohane has resigned as Dartmouth's basketball coach, it was announced Sunday.
'This has been a learning experience for all our coaches and for the players as well,' said Cohane, who posted a 30-74 record at Dartmouth.
'It's time now for someone to take over the program from here.'
Dartmouth finished its season Saturday night with an 81-77 overtime loss to Brown. The Big Green was 7-19 overall, matching last year's record.
Cohane joined the Dartmouth staff in 1979 from Manhattanville College, where he started a men's program from scratch and three years later took them to two straight NCAA Division III appearances.
'Tim did a superior job in the face of incredible adversity,' said Dartmohth Athletic Director Seaver Peters. 'He was always a credit to the coaching profession and to Dartmouth College.'
