KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee football coach Johnny Majors completed his coaching staff Monday with the appointment of Larry Holton as pass receiver coach and Walt Harris as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
Harris, 36, was just named offensive coordinator at the University of Illinois before he accepted a position on Majors' staff.
For the last three years, Harris has been the quarterback coach at Illinois.
Holton, an assistant at Oklahoma State the past four years, replaces Bob Harrison, who accepted a position with the Atlanta Falcons.
Holton played at Iowa State while Tennessee Coach Johnny Majors was coaching there. He also coached a year at Florida State and was at Pittsburgh for six years, much of the time as an assistant to Majors, who led the Panthers to the 1976 national championship before coming to Tennessee.
Tennessee still needs a quarterback coach to replace Al Saunders, who left for the San Diego Chargers staff.
Former North Carolina assistant Larry Marmie replaced Bobby Jackson last week as defensive coordinator and linebacker coach. Mike Sweatman has been hired to coach defensive ends.
