Beautiful Glass surged at the top of the stretch...

ARCADIA, Calif. -- Beautiful Glass surged at the top of the stretch and eased out to a 3 -length triumph Friday in the $69,450 La Brea Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.

The winner, with Chris McCarron aboard at low weight of 114 pounds, covered the seven furlongs in 1:21 and paid $3.40, $3.20 and $2.60. Runnerup Skillful Joy returned $5.00 and $4.00 while Header Card paid $5.40 to show.

McCarron moved Beautiful Glass to the lead soon after the start and the filly responded at the head of the stretch, disposing of A Kiss For Luck and cruising to the victory.
