REALLY BIG STAR

By JOAN HANAUER, United Press International

Who has stolen scenes from Bo Derek and Clint Eastwood? Why, C.J., the orangutan who worked with Eastwood in 'Any Which Way But Loose' and with Bo in 'Tarzan.' That's why Marty Allen wanted him for a co-star when he works the center ring at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in the 'Seventh Annual Circus of the Stars' to be broadcast Sunday on CBS with Mickey Rooney as ringmaster.

'I want to work with C.J. the orangutan because he's the hottest act in show business,' Allen told executive producer Bob Stivers. Allen said C.J. has the strength of seven men and the coordination of a great athlete. 'If he doesn't like you, forget it,' Allen said. 'Fortunately, I found out he likes me better than he does Bo.'

A TOUGH YEAR: 1982 was a mixed year for 22-year-old pro golfer Patti Rizzo. In her first year on the tour she was second twice and finished in the top 10 five times, winding up 31st on the money list with $46,441. This week she was named Rookie of the Year by the Ladies Professional Golfers Association and honored by Golf Digest as its outstanding rookie. But when she accepted the LPGA award she blurted out, 'This has been the most difficult year of my life ...' and was so choked up she couldn't finish. Later, at Wednesday's Golf Digest ceremonies, she said, 'I've been through three caddies, four sets of golf clubs and five golf bags and I was almost arrested twice ... There were times I wanted to punch a hole in the wall. My career is just beginning and already I feel like an old lady.'
