KAPALUA, Hawaii -- David Ishii of Honolulu shot a 3-under-par 68 Thursday to take a one stroke lead over touring pro John Mahaffey after two rounds of the $110,000 Kapalua Open.
Ordonio, an assistant pro at Hawaii Kai, put together nines of 34 and 33 under windy conditions on the 6,529-yard Bay course.
John Mahaffey and Scott Simpson of the PGA Tour and Hawaii's David Ishii were deadlocked for second at 68. Another stroke behind were Curtis Strange and local players Keith Kollmeyer and Dick McClean.
This year's PGA leading money-winner, Craig Stadler, finished at par-71 along with with Tom Purtzer.
