Jackson State 22, Grambling 6

GRAMBLING, La. -- Quarterback John McKenzie fired two touchdown passes in the final period Saturday night, giving Jackson State a 22-6 victory over Grambling.

The victory boosted Jackson State to 6-2 overall and dropped Grambling to 5-2.

Jackson State's Al Marshall recovered a James Taylor fumble in the first quarter and four plays later, Ellis Davis took the ball in from the 2-yard line.

Kicker Jorge Rosales gave Grambling its first score before halftime, booting a field goal from the 38. In the third quarter, he kicked a 27-yarder.

Jackson State clinched the victory in the final period with a 75-yard drive capped by a TD pass from McKenzie to tight end Cleo Simmons. Dozier kicked the extra point.

Jackson State recovered a fumble by Taylor and four plays later, scored on a one-yard pass from McKenzie to Tommie Norman. Jackson scored four minutes later on an 18-yard field goal by Dozier.
