BELGRADE, Yugoslavia -- Poisonous waste waters from a lead and zinc mine burst through a dam, flooding houses and killing fish in the Drina River.

The waters Wednesday burst through a dam at the Sase lead and zinc mine, 100 miles southwest of Belgrade.

Authorities said there were no casualties but warned the population along the Drina and Sava rivers, including 1.4 million residents of Belgrade, not to use the river water in any form nor fish for eating from the two rivers.

The waste waters are to reach Belgrade in three days, the authorities said.
