Take this job and pitch it

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Mark Lee picked a unique time to tell the boss he was quitting his job.

Lee, 29, a Portland Beavers relief pitcher in the Pacific Coast League, came on in the ninth inning with his team ahead, 8-3, Monday night. He retired the first two batters and then called Manager Tom Trebelhorn to the mound and told him he was quitting baseball.

Lee walked off the mound, threw down his glove and cap and whipped off his uniform en route to the clubhouse.

Lee said he had heard he was to be traded and decided to retire instead and go home to Texas.
