PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Walter Davis, missing from Phoenix's lineup since the pre-season due to injury, was reactivated Friday, but not in time for the Suns' meeting with San Antonio.

Davis, who fractured his left elbow in a contest Oct. 23 in San Diego, was unable to join the team in time for the contest.

To make room for Davis on the roster, guard John McCullough was placed on waivers. McCullough had played in eight of the Suns' 22 games this season, averaging 2.9 minutes an appearance and 2.6 points.

'Essentially, we did it today because the NBA office is closed tommorrow,' said Tom Ambrose, a Suns' spokesman.

He said Davis would be in the lineup Saturday night when Phoenix entertains Kansas City.

Davis has been traveling with the team on occasion when not undergoing therapy, charting plays for the coaching staff.

His replacement, Kyle Macy, has averaged 16.2 points per game in 37 minutes of playing time.
