NEW YORK -- Philadelphia goalie Pete Peeters, a key to the Flyers' four victories, Monday was named the NHL's Player of the Week.
Peeters stopped 98 of 104 shots during the four games, beginning the week with a 2-1 victory over Winnipeg. Peeters was in goal for a 6-1 triumph over Calgary and posted weekend victories over Detroit (5-2) and St. Louis (8-2).

Other top candidates for the award included Colorado goalie Glenn Resch, Washington center Dennis Maruk and Edmonton center Wayne Gretzky, the league's leading scorer.
