LOS ANGELES -- Actor Rock Hudson was hospitalized today for heart bypass surgery.
'We expect him to be out of surgery by noon (today),' Gene Walsh, a spokesman for the actor, said after Hudson entered the hospital Sunday.
Walsh refused to disclose the name of the hospital.
Hudson, 55, complained of chest pains two weeks ago and underwent a series of tests that resulted in the decision to perform the surgery, Walsh said.
Filming of Hudson's new NBC-TV series, 'The Devlin Connection,' will be suspended during the recovery period of six to eight weeks. The show was scheduled to premiere Nov. 27 but will be held off the air until early next year, Walsh said.
