NEW YORK -- The New York Mets announced Friday that Gary Rajsich, an outfielder with their Tidewater farm club who leads the International League with 24 home runs, will be out for the rest of the season with a hairline fracture of his right wrist.
Rajsich, 26, injured his wrist in a home plate collision against Richmond on June 26. He played last Wednesday and hit a three-run homer to win the opening game of a doubleheader at Rochester but could not continue because of the pain.
Rajsich hit .277 in 70 games.
