Ronald Reagan's star along Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame...

HOLLYWOOD -- Ronald Reagan's star along Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame was circled by marchers Sunday who asked passersby to sign a petition asking the President to keep leopards on the endangered species list.

The Elsa Wild Animal Appeal and the Fund For Animals, who staged the brief protest, said it was trying to block pressure from the National Safari Club, which has sued to allow American hunters to import leopard trophies.

Elsa said the Safari Club inflated leopard population figures in its lawsuit.

Tourists walking past Reagan's star, the entertainment colony's coveted sidewalk honor, were asked to sign a giant postcard to the President as well as petitions to the White House and Interior Department.
