WASHINGTON -- Rookie linebacker Farley Bell, who left training camp last summer, and defensive end Angelo Wells, who retired rather than report to camp, were reinstated Monday by the Washington Redskins.

The Redskins also announced the signing of seven free agents.

All will join Redskins veterans in a three-day mini-camp beginning Thursday.

Signed as free agents were tight end Bob Raba from Maryland, who played three seasons with the New York Jets; tackle Rich Dimmer, a fifth-round 1979 draft pick by Cleveland out of Southern California; fullback Chuck Hunter from Ohio State, cut last summer by the Miami Dolphins; linebacker Gary Padjen, an 11th-round draft pick last season by the Dallas Cowboys out of Arizona State.

Also, wide receiver-kick returner Virgil Seay, a 10th-round pick out of Troy State last year by Denver; running back Otis Wonsley from Alcorn State, a ninth-round pick last year by the New York Giants, and Sandro Vitiello, a left-footed soccer style kicker from Massachusetts picked last year on the 10th round by Cincinnati.

Bell, 6-4, 235 pounds, played two seasons at Ohio State before transferring to Cincinnati. He walked out of camp last summer and was placed on the 'left camp-retired' list. Wells was the final player cut by the Redskins in 1979 and played that season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.

Raba is the only free agent with NFL experience. He played in all 14 games with the Jets in 1977. Injuries caused him to miss half of each of the following seasons and he was cut by the Jets and Baltimore prior to the 1980 season.
