NEW YORK -- Michelle Blatt, the women's basketball coach at Manhattan College since the program's inception, has been fired because of differences of coaching philosophies.
Manhattan Director of Athletics John J. Powers announced Thursday that Blatt, who has guided the Lady Jaspers for three years, has been relieved of her responsibilities but was given the option of remaining at the college until June 30.

A former assistant coach for the U.S. team which won a silver medal at the Wolrd University Games, Blatt compiled records of 6-10, 6-17 and 17-12 in the past three years.
