DETROIT -- Greg Kelser of the Detroit Pistons received a clean bill of health and will be ready to play with the Pistons next season.

After undergoing an orthroscopic examination of his injured right knee, doctors said Friday the 6-foot-8 forward could return to action.

Kelser, who has tendonitis of his right knee, has not played since Dec. 18. He was traded to the Seattle Supersonics on Dec. 16, but failed a physical examination and was reverted back to the Piston bench.

Team doctor Ben Paolucci said Kelser has a minimal amount of softening of tissue in his kneecap but nothing of an unexpected nature. Paolucci said Kelser is to continue rehabilitation workouts and will be ready to play next season.

The second year forward came to the Pistons in 1979, fresh from the NCAA winning Michigan State Spartan team.
