JACKSON, Miss. -- Grambling quarterback Mike Williams, the younger brother of Tampa Bay Buccaneer quarterback Doug Williams, threw for 131 yards and one touchdown to lead the West to a 19-10 victory over the East in the Sheridian Black College All-Star game Saturday.

Williams, who was named the game's outstanding offensive player, completed 12-of-26 passes, including a 27-yard touchdown strike to Gregory Anderson of Alabama State with 1:46 remaining in the game.

Curtis Green of Alabama State was chosen the game's outstanding defensive player. Green made five solo tackles and sacked the East's quarterback twice.

The West scored twice in the first quarter on a 4-yard run by Reginald Morgan of Southern and a 5-yard run by Grambling's Ken Sampson. But both extra point attempts were blocked.

The East closed the West lead to 12-3 in the second quarter on a 28-yard field goal by Howard Ward of Howard University.

In the third quarter, Joe '747' Adams of Tennessee State connected with college teammate Lee Haynes on a 8-yard touchdown pass to narrow the score to 12-10.

But the West defense held off the explosive East squad and William's touchdown pass in the final minutes ensured the win for coach Willie Wood. Wood, a former All-Pro safety with the Green Bay Packers, is now the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
