Milan Williams, keyboard player for the Commodores soul group, was forced to crash land his single engine plane on a freeway in downtown Phoenix, Ariz., after the engine conked out eight miles short of the airport.
Williams and the group's press agent, Lester Mornay, jumped clear before the plane burst into flames. Said press agent Mornay: 'Milan was very calm and cool. We didn't talk much. We just looked for somewhere to land. Luckily, there was a freeway here.'
