SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento Bee today endorsed President Carter for re-election.

The newspaper said independent candidate John Anderson has no chance of winning and Republican Ronald Reagan is 'a right-wing politician whose often oversimplified proposals are truly frightening.'

It said Carter has done 'much less than his Republican opponents to oversimplify the issues, minimize the problems or pretend that they were subject to quick solutions.'

'It is that, rather than any specific proposal or any ideological preference, that makes the choice so clear.

'If Carter has sometimes seemed inconsistent, if he has compromised more than he should, he is also a man who understands the complexity of his world, the interrelatedness of its problems, and the sensitivity that is required, again and again, to deal with them.

'Reagan, it seems to us, shows no such awareness, not in his background, not in his statements, not in his array of advisers. On these differences alone, the choice is absolutely clear: Carter.'
