SAN FRANCISCO -- Government by district-elected supervisors comes to San Francisco today when the new board holds its first meeting.

First order of business for the new 11-member board will be choice of a president. They will also hear from Mayor George Moscone and they will also undergo a lottery type of draw to determine whether they will serve two or four games.

The board, chosen for the first time district by district instead of from the city at large, includes incumbents Gordon Lau, Quentin Kopp, Dianne Feinstein, Robert Gonzales, Ron Pelosi and John Molinari along with newcomers Harvey Milk, Lee Dolson, Dan White, Ella Hill Hutch and Carol Ruth Silver.
