China today accused India of aggression and pledged its "resolute support" for Pakistan.

Acting Foreign Minister Chi Pen-fei told a Peking reception that India was being backed in the aggression by "Socialist imperialism" -- the Chinese description for Russia.

In Copenhagen, Soviet Premier Alexei Kosygin said the Soviet Union alone cannot stop the war.

Speaking through an official of his delegation, Kosygin said, "alone we can do nothing."

"Because of our friendship treaty with India, we are more obliged to that country than to Pakistan," the Russian official said in a statement to newsmen as Kosygin left his Copenhagen hotel to fly to Aalborg on the third day of his Danish visit.

"Furthermore, there is the development in the relations between Pakistan and China and between the USSR and China," the official said.
