Apollo splashdown timetable

HOUSTON, July 24, 1969 (UPI)--- Apollo 11 timetable for today, based on the NASA flight plan and Navy information from carrier Hornet (all times EDT). 6:32 a.m. -- Crew awakens early to prepare for re-entry into earth atmosphere.

9:37 a.m. -- Final course correction if necessary to line up ship for the "window" it must pass through to get home successfully. Apollo is about 29,000 miles from earth.

12 noon -- President Richard Nixon arrives on Hornet, inspects quarantine trailer which will house astronauts on trip to Houston.

12:20 p.m. (approximate) -- President leaves trailer area for breakfast.

12:49 p.m. -- Splashdown southwest of Hawaii.

1 p.m. -- Swimmers deployed.

2:10 p.m. -- Astronauts enter trailer.

3 p.m. -- President goes to trailer to welcome astronauts. He will use an intercom and not physically come into contact with them.

3:15 p.m. -- President leaves Hornet, en route to Guam.

3:55 p.m. -- Command module Columbia hauled aboard Hornet.
