Fire aboard Enterprise; casualties

By United Press International

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii -- A fire broke out on the flight deck of the nuclear carrier USS Enterprise today and a military source reported casualties "may be heavy."

This was substantiated by a request from the Navy for donations of blood. The Navy spokesman asked all civilians to report to Queen's Medical Center and all military personnel to Tripler General Hospital, both in Honolulu, for their blood donations.
