Crowd outside hospital while RFK undergoes surgery

LOS ANGELES, June 5, 1968 (UPI) - About 300 persons crowded the entrance to Good Samaritan Hospital today while Sen. Robert F. Kennedy underwent surgery. Astronaut John Glenn, who had been accompanying Kennedy on his campaign trips, left the hospital shortly after dawn. He looked grim.

The senator's brother, Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, hurried to the hospital after being flown to Los Angeles in an Air Force jet from elsewhere in California.
