WASHINGTON, June 19, 1953 (UP) - A Georgia Democrat's proposal for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas was turned over to a House judiciary subcommittee today for study and possible hearings. Cong. Louis E. Graham (R., Pa.) was named chairman. He doubted that a subcommittee meeting would be held until after the Supreme Court renders a decision in the Rosenberg case.
The impeachment resolution, laid before the House Wednesday by Cong. W.M. (Don) Wheeler (D., Ga.), accused Douglas of "high crimes and misdemeanors in office" for granting stays of execution for Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, the convicted atomic spies.
