Tel Aviv pamphlet bombs warn of violence

JERUSALEM, Palestine, Feb. 1, 1947 (UP) -- Pamphlet bombs exploded in Tel Aviv Saturday night and warned British military authorities that the Jewish underground was ready to fight an all-out British drive to suppress violence in the Holy Land.

The bombs scattered warnings that reprisals would be made for future death sentences imposed on underground members. Despite the warnings, it was expected that at least five and possibly six death sentences would be announced within the next few days.
