NEW YORK, May 21, 1932 (UP) - George Palmer Putnam, husband of Amelia Earhart Putnam, today said he was "extremely proud, and who wouldn't be" of the flight of his wife from Newfoundland to Ireland.
"Do you realize what a marvelous job to have the courage to handle a sick engine for 10 hours in a night flight over the Atlantic?" he exclaimed. "That was one of the best jobs ever by any aviator. Naturally, I am feeling proud. Who wouldn't be?"
