Deported pair vow revolution in U.S.

HANGO, Finland, Jan. 17, 1920 (UP) -- Alexander Berkman and Emma Goldman, deported from the United States, intend to organize a great society in Soviet Russia to be known as the "Russia Friends of America Liberty."

The society's prime object will be the promotion of "social revolution in the United States."

Berkman and Goldman made these statements when the American transport Buford, the "Soviet Ark," carrying 249 radicals deported from the United States, arrived here.

The Buford was accompanied by the destroyer Ballard.

American officials will accompany the Reds as far as the Russian border near Petrograd.
